Community and connection are essential needs for us all.  When those needs are ruptured, repair is needed.  When those ruptures happen in the orbit of our soul and spirit, the repair is delicate.

In light of this, we are hosting an 8-week, online, facilitated discussion group on recognizing and understanding spiritual trauma and its healing. We will use the book from researcher, therapist and author Hillary McBride, PhD.  Holy Hurt: Understanding Spiritual Trauma and the Process of Healing.

This group would be helpful for you if you have a lived experience of spiritual trauma or if you seek a better understanding of it and how it impacts those around you.  We have found this work to be an invaluable resource of wisdom, care and healing, both personally and professionally.

Whether you want to better understand spiritual trauma, your own or others, this book is one resource.  It will invite us into gentle engagement with ourselves while being challenged by its content.  This is not a group to convince one another of any particular viewpoint; nor is it a therapy group.  It is a space to approach one another with curiosity, practicality and kindness as we witness each other’s grief collectively; a space for personal reflection, thoughtful conversation and shared learning. We honor the unique sacredness of LGBTQ identities and are committed to maintaining a container where your story is held with unwavering dignity, free from judgment or the need to justify your existence.

What you can expect each week:

  • 1 hour on line group  (see below for dates & time)

  • A review of our group agreements and guidelines

  • A brief grounding & mindfulness practice

  • General check-in on the chapter for that week

  • Facilitated questions & prompts for our conversation

  • A brief therapeutic practice to close the time offering support, care & integration

  • Optional take home questions for deeper consideration

This course will be facilitated by Ashley McCarthy, MA, LCMHC/Therapist/Facilitator and Beth Farrand, Spiritual Director/Coach/Facilitator.

As part of an effort to help those that are facing financial difficulties, we announced a price decrease for 2026 workshops and course offerings. The price for this course was originally $250, but we are now offering it for $75. We think this reduces the barrier for those that are facing economic challenges and also fulfills our desire to swing our doors wide open, be here for the world as it is, and be a place for folks to come to in this time.

Price:

$75.00
