Bev Vaughn
PhD, Reiki Master Teacher, Guest Facilitator
Bev has her BM, MM and PhD in music education from Westminster Choir
College and UNCG. She taught for 30 years in public schools and 43 as a
private voice and piano teacher. In addition to teaching choir, theater,
humanities, and general music in public schools, she was a guest choral
director for all-county programs and a guest lecturer both nationally and
internationally. She also founded and directed the Rockingham County Youth
Chorus for 15 years.
Although she has been using Reiki and EFT Tapping since the 1970’s
teaching children to deal with performance anxiety, she completed her Usui
Tibetan Reiki certifications in 2017. She added her Master and Master
Teacher certifications in 2019. Additionally, she studied and was certified in
Holy Fire III Reiki (Master) and Karuna Reiki Master teacher. She completed
her Animal Reiki levels 1, 2 and Master Teacher and is certified in all by the
ICRT. She completed over 500 hours of training and practice during these
certifications and is a member of the International Center for Reiki Training
(ICRT). She is also a member of the Center for Reiki Research and has
published an article on Reiki and Cancer. She is also certified in EFT Tapping
by the AIHCP (American Institute of Health Care Professionals) and also
holds certificates in Breathworks Mindfulness and Mindfulness Base Stress
Reduction (MBSR), The Silva Method, Huna, HeartMath and Sound Therapy.
She is a Stephen Minister and a Community of Hope lay minister.
Currently she gives Reiki sessions at Cone Cancer Center (since 2022) as
part of the Alight Program. She has been teaching for the Hirsch Wellness Network since 2021 and teaches Reiki, EFT tapping, Chrismons and other
crafts.
Bev enjoys doing energy work, painting, hiking, and learning new things!
