Jennifer Reda

Second Breath Core Facilitator

Raised primarily in North Carolina and West Virginia, Jennifer graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Animal Sciences and a Minor in English. A growing affinity for teaching and her involvement as a student program leader with the YMCA at Virginia Tech sparked her professional journey in public education, ministry, and the non-profit sector. Jennifer taught Biology as a Teach for America Corp Member in the Mississippi Delta where she received her district’s Teacher of the Year Award. A desire to continue working for educational equity led her to KIPP Academy Nashville and then to Page High School in her hometown of Greensboro. As a new calling emerged, she moved to Western North Carolina and served as Executive Director of Glory Ridge, a multi-denominational camp and retreat center from 2013-2022. Currently she is a grant writer for Community Housing Coalition of Madison County. Jennifer feels most at home in the outdoors, most alive when traveling to new places, and most inspired by the wisdom of experience and the optimism of youth. She enjoys cooking, decorating, dancing, playing music, and spending time with her family and two dogs.
