Rev. Dr. Phanta Lansden serves as the Senior Pastor of Saint James Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC, a Matthew 25 and Stephen Ministry congregation committed to eradicating systemic poverty, dismantling structural racism, promoting congregational vitality, and providing Christ-centered care. She holds a B.S. in Social Work from UNC Greensboro, an M.Div. from Union Presbyterian Seminary – where she received the Helen Dean Preaching Award and the James and Elizabeth Appleby Book Award – and a D.Min. focused on trauma-informed preaching and spiritual practices that aid in healing the Black community. She is currently a Spiritual Director in formation through Ignatius House in Atlanta, GA. With over a decade of experience serving marginalized populations, she blends her background in social work, retreat and conference leadership, coaching, spiritual direction and reformed theology to cultivate brave spaces for liberation and healing. Rev. Dr. Lansden enjoys reading, walks in nature, exercising, and spending time with her family.
